Caryn was an extraordinary woman. My admiration and respect for her is immeasurable. I am eternally grateful that she was the mother in law to my son, Zach, and grandmother to our mutual grandsons, Zeke and Arlo. Her constant devotion, energy, love, and caring is something that will leave an indelible print on the hearts and minds of all who loved and respected her. I was privileged to have been a colleague of hers at Doyle the last several years of our careers. Her incredible knowledge combined with her patience, was respected and greatly appreciated by both students and teachers. I will miss her calm wisdom and her thoughtful intelligence.
Caryn embraced every moment of her life. She and her family shared incredible travel adventures; some closer to home, but there were also innumerable travels to countries all over the world. I was very happy to have experienced one trip with Caryn, which was to the beautiful wedding of my son, Zach, to her daughter, Janel, in Santorini, Greece. That was one of many times through the years that my family and I were privileged to have experienced her tremendous generosity, and witness the love and care she had for her friends and family.
We will all miss her joy, her sense of humour, and her realistic, yet optimistic outlook. With every adventure, when we watch our gardens grow, and when we gather as a family, her presence will always be felt.
